Abstract

|
This scenario was designed to use simulation-based learning to provide care for patients with atrial fibrillation. Atrial fibrillation is a medical emergency. These patients have a higher mortality rate due to heart disease compared to normal patients due to various complications. The ultimate treatment for atrial fibrillation is to restore normal heartbeats as atrial fibrillation cannot be controlled by drugs; it must be treated with cardioversion or surgery. Through this scenario, the nursing students could be trained and educated to improve and advance their nursing competences.
